Firstly I chose a model to which I will base these responses on. Georges mainly uses women as her subjects therefore I made sure I followed how she does her work. I proceeded to Photograph my model using the studio. Georges Photographs seem to be very perfect and precise, however I feel that with the illustration, it can cover up any mistakes that you may make once put together as a whole. After I took my Photographs, I used Photoshop to edit and cut out certain parts of my models face, hair or body. I did this quite randomly, however took inspiration from Georges Photographs as to what to edit and what to not. I also altered the brightness and contrast on these Photographs so that the model is still seen as the centre subject even with the illustrations over the top.
After I edited my Photographs I then printed out these on A4 paper. Using Georges Photographs as inspiration I began to doodle over the image and paper firstly in pencil. Once I was happy with the design and that it linked clearly with my photographer I went over the pencil in black fine liner so that the design stands out. I varied the thickness of the pen depending on what part I was outlining to create definition to the illustration. I then scanned the paper back into the computer to create the final image.
I am extremely happy with this response and how it looks, and I love this kind of technique that is used, however the quality is somewhat not it's best because I have had to scan it back in, therefore there could be more experimentation needed as to how I can keep the Photograph crisp and sharp. I think that I have captured the essence of Georges work well and depending on how my ideas develop I would definitely consider this technique in my development.
